About Us
Our History
Our dream to rescue and provide forever homes to animals began in April 2014, when we purchased a property with a large house, a barn, and multiple pastures. We moved in in July 2014, with 3 dogs and 3 cats. In August 2014, we welcomed two Thoroughbred horses, and in May 2017, our dream grew, when we purchased additional adjoining property. Fast forward to June 2019, our dream grew again, when we decided to move from a private sanctuary to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Today, we are home to 150 animals which include 20+ dogs, 19 cats, horses, cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, and rabbits. Many of these animals come from homes where they were neglected, abused mentally and physically, negatively trained, or abandoned altogether. We consider Tribe to be their last stop, with many of these animals needing around-the-clock medical care it would not be suitable to rehome them. There are special cases where animals can be rehomed if they meet certain criteria, in these circumstances we partner with local rescue organizations that can vet potential adopters so we can ensure these animals are placed in a caring and loving home.
Our Mission
Tribe Animal Sanctuary is committed to providing sanctuary for abused, neglected and homeless animals. Through education and experience, we strive to encourage a vegan lifestyle and inspire change in the way society sees and treats animals.
